By Zulu Warrior
I have read many versions on the attack by the French and Indians on the village of Deerfield in 1704 and watched the film based on this moment in history ( Drums Along The Mohawk ) this is probably the least informative. This book concentrates on the Reverend Williams and his family, his wife and two of his children were killed and one hundred and eleven were taken as captive to Canada. The first account in this book by the Reverend Williams himself is so taken with passages from the bible and his hatred of the Jesuits that it was almost impossible to read, the book then becomes interesting with more readable accounts from his son Stephen and other captives, i'm not sure which versions I have read are true it is so difficult to decide with so many accounts differing but I would not advise reading this book.
